- The most common and cheap method to clean your carpet is by treating that mould with vacuum cleaner. Vacuum cleaner helps to remove as much mildew as possible from the carpet. Vacuum your carpet on both sides. Dispose of the vacuum bag quickly, to prevent the spread of mildew spores.
- By using vinegar, it is also help to
remove the mildew from your carpet. It is a cheap and often effective option.
Using white vinegar to avoid stains, apply lightly with a spray bottle, and
scrub it in with a stiff brush. After that blow dry the carpet or air dry in a
well-ventilated area, to avoid leaving moisture that could replenish the mold.
- Another method to remove the mildew from your carpet by using Lysol and water solution. Mix about one cup of Lysol to the bucket already filled with hot water and spray onto the soiled carpet. Let it stand for 15-20 minutes before using a vacuum to pull the dirt and mold out.
- Some mold removal products are based on chlorine dioxide, but be aware that this chemical can alter the carpet's colour. Test first on a small area normally covered by furniture. Depending on the product, you may need access to a wet vacuum to remove it from the carpet after use.
